Wayzata Walk for Water

Students Walking to Make a Difference

The Walk: December 2009

We recently conducted the 2nd annual "Wayzata Walk for Water" this past December in hopes of providing a water system to the Kapsoiyo Centre Pry School in Kenya . We walked 1.5 miles to and from school each day during the month of December to symbolize the walk that kids all over the world make every day for water. The hope was to raise enough money to provide this school in Kenya with a water system so that these kids would be able to walk 2 steps instead of 2 miles for a simple glass of water. We worked with a charity called H20 for Life to make sure that the money goes to the right place and that these kids lives are forever changed.

Pen Pals

You could be a Pen Pal with one of the 600 students attending Kapsoiyo Centre Pry School in Kenya. Letters are precious to these kids. They will hang them up in their sparse classroom along with your pictures. If you would like to be a Pen Pal with one of the kids here are the guidelines:

  1. Please start the letter with "Dear Friend." We would like a letter to go to everyone in the school.
  2. Pictures- you need to have pictures! Of you, your family, or your dog.
  3. Talk about you-age, grade, town, school, classes, family, travels, what you want to become, college plans, etc
  4. Place the letter and pictures in an envelope, make sure you include your home address.

Welcome
